The Grace of God Mission

The Grace of God Mission is a faith-led charitable initiative built on one quiet conviction.

Around the world, children grow up without parents — abandoned, orphaned, or left to find their own way — and too often grow up believing the world does not care for them. At the same time, many adults carry love they have nowhere to give: those who could not have children, those who lost a child, those who longed for a family that never came. Both groups need the same thing.

The Mission brings the two together.

What we are building

The Mission was founded in 2024 in Sydney by Grace Dagher, as an independent Catholic initiative inspired by the example of Mother Theresa and held under the spiritual care of Mary, the Mother of God.

The model is simple. Loving adults are matched with disadvantaged children through partnerships with orphanages and children's organisations. The relationship begins with a visit. It grows through ongoing correspondence — a modern pen-pal, sustained through technology — and deepens through missionary trips. Over time, the Mission hopes to open real pathways for these young people in education, in work, and in life beyond the circumstances they were born into, including, for some, the possibility of new beginnings in Australia.

The principle at the centre of everything is this: love is the point. Funds are raised only as they are needed, and they never become the focus. The Mission is built on relationships, not on transactions.

Why this exists

Grace Dagher founded the Mission from a quiet place.

Of Sudanese heritage and married for 20 years to her Lebanese husband, Grace is a Melkite Catholic whose faith sits at the centre of how she lives and works. She married at 21, expecting to build the Catholic family she had always imagined, and met a quieter and more difficult chapter than she had planned for — one shaped by health challenges and the long prayer that grew alongside them.

That season became the beginning of something different. A deeper relationship with God. A new sense of identity. And the slow building of a life that drew its meaning from exactly what she had not been given.

The Mission is the offering of that season. A way of bringing together the love that goes unreceived in two places at once — in children who never had it, and in adults who have it to give. It is the work Grace cares about more than anything else she does.

The stage we are at

The Grace of God Mission was incorporated in New South Wales on 30 April 2024 (Registration INC2400483). The legal foundations are in place. The work itself is now being built.

The next stage is the forming of a board, the securing of partnerships with orphanages and children's organisations, and the completion of charitable registration to allow tax-deductible donations. None of this work has begun yet on the ground. That is by design — the Mission is being built deliberately, with the right people, at the right pace, before any child is invited into a relationship that the Mission must be able to honour for years to come.

What we need now are people who believe in the vision. Board members who can help shape the next phase. Volunteers who want to walk this path from the beginning. Future mentors who carry love and want to give it. People of faith and people of skill, willing to help build something real.
